Creating a Career With Purpose - Eugenie Teasley, Uber

Eugenie Teasley is a Social Impact Manager at Uber whose career path has been built around purpose. Her role involves coming up with ways that Uber can use their resources to support their local cities and communities, i.e partnering with hospitals, governments, and programmes during the pandemic to provide support to vulnerable groups and workers.

Throughout her career, Eugenie has used purpose to drive her decisions. In this video she shares with us what her career path has looked like, from volunteering in Kenya, teaching in the UK, and working for one of the world’s fastest growing companies. She also shares advice for young adults looking to find a purposeful career.

Some of the areas discussed include:

  • What her role involves at Uber
  • How her lack of clarity as a teenager led to her trying many different things (including a volunteering project in Kenya)
  • What her experience in Kenya taught her about charity work overseas
  • How companies and young people can combine profit and purpose
  • Why young people should bring their authentic selves to work and celebrate their differences
