Marketing Manager

(Part Time, future possibility of Full Time)
£30 - 35k base
(experience dependent) pro rata 0.5 FTE (2.5 days/week)

We have an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role as our Marketing Manager at Circl. The role is currently part-time but there is a potential for a full-time position as the business grows.

What we do?

At Circl, we believe in a world where anyone can learn to lead, regardless of their background. We believe in a new kind of leadership – one that has empathy, diversity and empowerment at its core.

Our accredited coaches train professionals to use coaching to lead and be led alongside talented but underrepresented future leaders (18 – 24-year-olds) through our Leadership Development Programme.
It’s a uniquely effective way to help businesses build a coaching culture, while giving talented young people the skills they need to succeed and achieve their goals.

We’ve already done some amazing work with lots of young people and businesses including Facebook, Uber, Etsy, British Land, Allen & Overy, Google, Hello Fresh, Innocent, Landsec and many more.

What will you do?

Reporting directly into Charlie (CEO), you’ll have responsibility for generating leads amongst our target audience (CEOs, L&D and People Directors) as well as increasing Circl brand awareness with our Future Leader Communities.
Here are some ideas of what you’ll be getting stuck into, however, we’d love to hire someone who can tell us what the priorities should be and think of things we haven’t even considered yet!

  • Generate new leads: Build an innovative marketing strategy to drive qualified leads to our sales team from our key target audience of medium and large enterprises.
  • Grow brand visibility: Enhance our visibility amongst our target audience through content marketing, PR, influencer outreach, partnerships, social media presence or any other means you might find effective. Manage the Circl brand and ensure design consistency across all our assets.
  • Create extraordinary content: We’re lucky enough to already have lots of amazing marketing content including video interviews with some of the biggest UK brands. But we haven’t yet managed to put it to work to drive leads and build our brand. That’s where you step in!
  • Set ambitious marketing objectives & track marketing performance: Work with our CEO to create a set of marketing KPIs that will enable us to fulfill our sales goals (and then work out how you will meet them!). Track the performance of your marketing activities and be consistently looking to improve.
  • Build relationships with our community: Work with Circl programme participants (Professionals and Future Leaders) to share their experiences to help our partners see the ongoing value of the programmes. Organise unique events to allow us to develop deeper relationships with businesses and Future Leader Communities.
  • We’re a small team so there will be lots of opportunities to have an influence on the future of the business 😊

Why join us?

  • Make a difference – Our programme helps young people from underrepresented backgrounds develop their interpersonal and leadership skills while also helping professionals get better at their jobs. We’ve already seen the social impact this can have on a small scale and need help taking it global.
  • FREEEEDOM! – There’s scope to do a lot with this role. You have the freedom to come up with awesome ideas and run with them.
  • Flexibility – We don’t believe in rigid working times or places. You have the freedom to work in a way that works best for you. We’ve just moved to a co-working space with a private office in Paddington, but it’s up to you as to how much you come in.
  • Big ambitions – We want to build a world where everyone can learn to lead. We have huge plans for international growth and you’ll be an important early hire with opportunities to go full time as we grow.
  • Emphasis on personal growth - We believe in helping individuals grow, both through our programmes and in our own team. You will get the opportunity to learn on the job both via professional training and via support from our expert marketing consultants to help you form your strategy and implement your ideas.
  • Our people – We’re a close-knit, inclusive team who are really passionate about what we do. We want to make the world a better place and have fun while we do it!

Who are we looking for?

For us the most important thing is that you’re the right person for the team. Here are the qualities we’re looking for:

  • Passion - Just like the rest of the team, you are genuinely engaged in our mission. You want to work for a company with purpose. You care about what you do, and you want to spend your time helping make the world a better place.
  • Creative – You have lots of ideas… Sometimes they’re amazing! When you have a good idea, you have high expectations and standards when making it a reality.
  • Autonomous - You don’t like having your hand held. You get things done without needing someone to tell you what to do every step of the way.
  • Organised - The fun and challenge of working in a small business is that everything is moving at thousand miles an hour. You know how to organise yourself in order to get your projects delivered on time.
  • Diverse skills– You’re an engaging writer and you know how to make things look good and eye-catching. You have a good grasp of tools like indesign or canva and video editing software - you might not be an expert but you can learn quickly.
  • Team-Player - Queue the clichés… In all seriousness, we’re a close team who help each other out every day. We actively look to share the load and help out where we can. We bring solutions to the table, not problems.
  • Commercial - You understand why our commercial approach is so important to our social impact. You want to measure your own success and want to enable us to work with more businesses and help more people. You get stuff done.
  • Individual - One of our core values is being human - You do you and Circl will support you to do your best work. We all have off days
  • Experience – Two years plus in a marketing role as well as, or alongside, graphic design, video editing, copywriting skills would be great, but not essential. An understanding of core digital marketing concepts such as SEO, inbound marketing, online advertising would also be appreciated. As long as you can learn and know how to execute, assess and improve we’d love to hear from you!
